Realizing A New Perspective to
Teaching and Learning a Langauge
This E-Portfolio showcases a few examples of what I have learned in ED481.
I finally realized the potential of integrating technology to teach ESL students how to read, listen, speak, write, view,
and visually represent a target language. The enormous wealth of activities is endless in my view. How we perceive
our way of teaching a language can be innovative and challenging at times, but nevertheless, integrating technology
can help motivate and gain the interest of our students to learn. I have learned about many free online tools
that are available to teachers and administrators who wish to take advantage of them. To name a few technology
that I have used in this class: Moodle, Firefox, Safari, Yahoo.Briefcase, Ikeepbookmarks.com, Google-idoc/spreadsheet, Blogger.com,
NiceNet.com, and many more out there just waiting to be discovered. I am beginning to see how technology tools can make
a lesson activity whereas they can link, add, blog, attached, save, edit, compose, webquest design, website design,
post, delete, copy to, color, enlarge, present, and many more verbs you can think of using these various tools with our
curriculum. I think it is great. I realize the potential of what I have learned in ED481. Thanks to all
my classmates who were there when I needed them, and thanks to my Professor, Dr. Cyrus for your patience,
guidance, and wisdom in showing us the way to realizing a new perspective to teaching and learning a language.
My philosophy is to continue what we are destined to do, that is to teach our young children to be a productive member of
society. We must endure the many challenges ahead of us and technology and our knowledge gained will prevail.
