Fair Use Practices & Copyright issues

Part I.  Access 10 Big Myths about copyright.  Explain this website with information involving copyright issues and fair use practice.

Our group talked about several copyright issues:
5) "If you don't defend your copyright you lose it." -- "Somebody has that name copyrighted!"
7) "They can't get me, defendants in court have powerful rights!"

According to Vito, copyright laws are very important to everyone that produces work.  He reiterated that you do not have to defend your work at all.  Albert noted that, "yes", just because you don't defend your work, you will lose it.  This is not true.  Your work is always your work.  Maka stated that it is a good thing that copyright laws are protecting our rights when it comes to worked produced.  Esther commented that, most people don't have the money to hire lawyers to go to court and it is a good thing that we don't have to defend our work in court and stand a chance on loosing it.
On the other hand, Vito stated that you can get sued in court and it is considered a civil suit.  Yes, said Albert, luckily it is not considered a crime but just a civil suit.  Maka stated, that it works both ways.  Though we don't have to sue to be protected, but you can get sued too.  Just don't copy other works, give them the credit for their work.  Esther stated that it is a good thing that the court allows such small suits to be heard in court.  Thanks to the justice system.
